Mysterious things related to Tirupati Balaji Temple: There are many miraculous and mysterious temples in India, which also includes the Tirupati Balaji temple located in South India. This temple is famous all over the world including India. The Indian temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is located on Tirumala mountain in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh and is one of the main pilgrimage sites of India. The real name of Tirupati Balaji is Sri Venkateswara Swamy who is Lord Vishnu himself. According to beliefs, Sri Venkateswara resides in Tirumala with his wife Padmavati. At the beginning of Kaliyuga, Adhibara left Mount Venkatadri and went to his world due to which Brahma ji started getting worried and asked Narad ji to bring back Vishnu ji. One day Narad went to Ganga where the sages were confused about the fact that our Narad ji entrusted this task to Bhrigu to solve his doubt as to who among the Trinity would get the results of the Yagya. He was chosen to test the three Gods. Maharishi Bhrigu was the first to reach the Brahmins, neither did they praise Brahma ji, nor did they pay obeisance to him. Seeing this, Lord Brahma became angry and his face turned red due to extreme anger but thinking that Bhrigu ji was his son, he suppressed his anger with his discretion and Rishi Bhrigu left from there. From there Maharishi Bhrigu proceeded towards Kailash. Mahadev became happy and stood up from his seat and extended his arms to embrace him, but Bhrigu Rishi had come to test him, hence Bhrigu rejected his embrace and said, Shiva, you always violate the dignity of religion, you wicked person. You easily give blessings to sinners but after that they trouble the entire creation, hence I will never accept your embrace. Hearing his words, Lord Shiva became angry and tried to kill Bhrigu by picking up the trident but Mother Sati intervened due to which Lord Shiva’s anger was calmed down. After this, sage Bhrigu went to Baikuntha, at that time Lord Vishnu was resting. As soon as he reached sage Bhrigu, he hit him on the chest. Shri Hari Vishnu soon got up from his seat and after paying obeisance to him and pressing his feet, he said, Maharaj, is your leg not hurt? Please sit on this throne.
Maharaj, is your leg not hurt? Please sit on this throne. Rishi Shrestha, I did not know about your arrival here, that is why I could not welcome you. The touch of your feet purifies the pilgrimage and today I am blessed by the touch of your feet. Seeing this loving behavior of Lord Vishnu, tears started flowing from the eyes of Maharishi Bhrigu. Seeing this, Sage Bhrigu replied to all the sages that the result of their yagya will always be dedicated to Lord Vishnu. But due to Shri Hari Vishnu attacking his chest, Goddess Lakshmi became angry. She could not tolerate the insult of her husband and she wanted Lord Vishnu to punish Rishi Bhrigu but this did not happen. Therefore, Goddess Lakshmi left Vaikuntha and came to earth to do penance. And started meditating in Karveera Pura. Here Vishnu ji was sad that Mata Lakshmi had left him and after some time he also came to earth and started searching for Mata Lakshmi. According to mythology, Padmavati Devi was Alamelu, the daughter of Akash Raja, the ruler of this region, who was married to Venkateswara.
It is also said that Goddess Lakshmi appeared to Lord Venkateswara on a red lotus flower at Alamelu Maang Puram after performing penance at his home for 12 years. Even after wandering in the forest and hills, he could not find his mother. Finally, after getting worried, Vishnu ji started taking rest in the shelter of Venkatagiri Venkatagiri. Seeing this, Lord Brahma decided to help them. He took the form of a cow and a calf and went to Goddess Lakshmi. Goddess Lakshmi saw them and handed them over to the Chola king, the ruler of power at that time. The king handed it over to the shepherd but that cow gave milk only to Srinivas in the form of Lord Vishnu. Due to which the cowherd tried to kill the cow. Then Srinivas attacked the cowherd and saved the cow and in anger he cursed the Chola king to be born as a demon. The king prayed for mercy, then Srinivas said that the king will get mercy only if he marries his daughter Padmavati to me. When Goddess Lakshmi Padmavati came to know about this, she came and then she recognized Sri Hari. Venkateswara and Padmavati both the gods asked the king to marry his daughter to God. To marry Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Vishnu took a loan from Kuber ji. While taking the loan, Lord Vishnu had said that by the end of Kaliyuga, he would repay all his loan along with interest. With this loan, Venkatesh form of Lord Vishnu and Padmavati, part of Goddess Lakshmi, got married. Because of this belief, even today devotees offer large quantities of gold, silver, diamonds, pearls and jewelery to Tirupati Balaji, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, so that the Lord becomes free from debt.
What is the reason behind donating hair in Tirupati temple? The reason behind donating hair is also believed to be so that Lord Venkateswara can be free from the debt taken from Kuber. When Lord Venkateswara was married to Padmavati, then according to a tradition, the class had to pay a kind of fee to the girl’s family before the marriage, but Lord Venkateswara was unable to pay this fee, so he married Padmavati by taking a loan from Kuber deity and Promised that he will repay all the debts of Kuber even till the end of Kaliyuga. He also gave a promise on behalf of Goddess Lakshmi that whoever helps the devotees in returning their loan, Goddess Lakshmi will give them 10 times more money. For this reason, devotees who have faith in Lord Vishnu who go to Tirupati help Lord Vishnu in repaying their debt by donating their hair. It is also said that he had taken this incarnation to save people from the sufferings of Kaliyuga, that is why Mother Lakshmi is also included in this form of God. That is why there is a tradition of making Balaji wear both male and female clothes. Every day Balaji is decorated with dhoti on the bottom and saree on top. It is believed that all the wishes of the devotees who pray to Lord Venkateswara with a true heart are fulfilled. Devotees come here and donate their hair in Tirupati temple as per their devotion. It is said that the hair on the idol of Lord Venkateswara Swamy is real and always remains soft. It is said that God himself resides here.
When you enter the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, it will appear as if the idol of Lord Sri Venkateswara is in the center of the sanctum sanctorum. But as soon as you come out of the sanctum sanctorum, you will be shocked because after coming out it appears that the idol of God is sitting on the right side. Now is it just an illusion or a miracle of God, no one has been able to figure it out till date. The idol of Lord Venkateswara is supernatural. It is made of special stone. This statue is so beautiful and alive that it appears as if Lord Vishnu himself is seated here. The idol sweats, drops of sweat can also be seen, hence the temperature in the temple is kept low. There is a village at a distance of 23 kilometers from the temple of Sri Venkateswara Swamy. It is said that no outsider can enter here except the villagers. The people of this village are very disciplined and live their life by following the rules. The things offered in the temple like fruits, flowers, curd, ghee, milk, butter etc. come from this village. On Thursday, sandalwood paste is applied to Lord Venkateswara, after which a wonderful mystery is revealed, after removing the make-up, taking a bath, sandalwood paste is applied. And when this coating is removed, the figure of Goddess Lakshmi is visible in the heart of Lord Venkateswara. This is also a mystery, a lamp always burns in Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple and the most shocking thing is that oil or ghee is never put in this lamp and who and when the lamp was first lit is not known to anyone. The secret is not known. Pachai camphor is applied on the statue of Lord Venkateswara. It is said that after some time this camphor is applied on any stone, cracks appear but on the statue of Lord Balaji, Pachai camphor has no effect. There is a stick on the right side of the main entrance door of the temple. There is a belief about this stick that Lord Venkateswara was beaten by his mother with this stick in his childhood, due to which he got injured on holidays, hence from then till today, sandalwood paste is applied on his head on Fridays so that May their wounds heal. It is said that a mysterious sound comes from inside the idol. It is said that when you listen to the idol of Lord Venkateswara, you hear a sound like the waves of the sea from within. The mystery of how and from whom this voice comes is still intact.
